Xtensible will be presenting our MD3i Solution suite including methodology and tools for creating/managing/using enterprise semantic models based on the CIM, for the purpose of utility enterprise integration and data management. This includes automated processes and integrated toolsets for generating CIM-based SOA and EIM XML/Data schemas and services. We will also demonstrate CIM EA - freeware for CIM profile and message/data schema creation and validation. Both MD3i and CIM EA are Add-In modules for the EA modeling platform.

EPRIUse SHIFT+ENTER to open the menu (new window).
EPRI has a long and positive history with UCAInternational and the IEC standards its communities leverage. From shepherding the early growth of the CIM with its Control Center Application Programming Interface (CCAPI) work in the early 1990s to participating in the formation of UCAInternational in the early 2000s to providing sponsorship of the UCAI 61850 testing program to recent collaboration on Green Button initiatives, EPRI has long been engaged with UCAI and the standards it supports.  With membership on 4 of the IEC Working Groups responsible for CIM and 61850 standards, EPRI both represents utility interests to the standards bodies and provides a conduit back to its members for information on current standards activities.  Current work includes initiatives on Field Force Visualization, Integrated Network Model Management and Green Button.

Open Grid Systems Ltd. is a consultancy and software company based in Glasgow, UK providing services to the electrical power industry focussed on model-driven software engineering, open standards and cutting-edge technologies.

We will be demonstrating Cimphony®, our a model-driven power system data management application. It supports a number of power system data formats and provides a modular, multi-platform framework for data management and power system analysis tools.

The core Cimphony modules provide model-independent services for:

  • Data Management

  • Data Validation

  •  Model-Driven Transformation

  • Graphical  Editing

  • Geographical Network Editing

We will also be giving a demonstration or our open standards-based field-crew mobile application running on Apple iOS.  This application utilizes modern consumer hardware with enterprise data to provide a powerful, affordable, standards-based mobile platform to access and update enterprise data remotely.

Enterprise Model Management (EMM) from Siemens PTI is a unique and proven solution designed to help streamline the modeling work flow. The EMM solution provides a common, CIM-based network modeling platform for planning and operations. Deployment of this solution helps ensure that both departments share a common data model that is reliable and current.  Productivity increases by having one common source of data, eliminating the need for redundant model maintenance. And by employing the international standard data format, CIM, EMM is able to exchange data with other organizations as well as with other software systems within the organization.  Reliability improves with better assessment of system operation limits and consistent predictions of operational conditions across all study time frames while incorporating grid reinforcements into the planning horizon.

Siemens PTI brings a comprehensive understanding and ability to analyze any type of electricity network – whether it is low-voltage or medium-voltage distribution systems for industrial or public electricity supply to the highest voltage levels for transmission systems. Our internationally renowned experts, software portfolio and education curriculum, along with our long-standing expertise, are a sound basis for developing state-of-the-art solutions of the highest reliability and efficiency for your network.
